The goal of the Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce shall be to advance the civic, economic, cultural, and social betterment and interests of the people of Howard County.

GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS provide opportunities for members to become informed on legislative issues and pro actively support Big Spring and Howard County and the business community to/with the appropriate governmental entities. The Chamber will continue to sponsor public meetings with local, state and national leaders to keep abreast on latest issues facing our community. The Chamber will strive to become more involved on the development and enhancement of the Downtown area.
Associate programs: Transportation and Downtown Development

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT strives to achieve positive growth of membership through retention, recruitment and communication while functioning as the goodwill arm of the organization. The Focus, a monthly newsletter, will continue to communicate important Chamber issues and events to the membership. A membership directory will be published listing all members of the Chamber, categorized by business type, to be used as an informative and recruiting tool for the businesses of our community. The Chamber website will strive to list all active members with links to each entity website.
Associate programs: Membership, Membership Retention, Publications, and Website.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS keyed to providing the community with programs, business information, and networking through events throughout the year. The Chamber continues to offer health awareness to citizens by sponsoring the Health Fair. The Chamber also recognizes the agricultural industry by providing support of the Ag Expo and Ag Appreciation Luncheon to offer education and appreciation to our farming community. One of the most successful programs is Leadership Big Spring and Jr. Leadership. Both programs continue to prosper and improve at providing the leaders of tomorrow with knowledge and skills to insure the future of Big Spring.
Associate programs: Annual Banquet, Community Luncheons, Education, Health Fair, Ag Expo, Leadership Big Spring and Jr. Leadership.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT strengthens, expands, and maintains all business sectors of the Chamber. Awareness to buy local and promote cooperation in the retail businesses in order to increase income will continue. Emphasis will be placed on supporting services and industries as well, allowing focus to be placed on education and assistance for all existing businesses of the Chamber.
Associate programs: Seminars, Business After Hours, and Business Showcase.
